Do you always go in for a beta?

Last month I started af despite being on progesterone so I didn't go. This month we had an early o so no IUI. I took a test before DH left to go hunting on Thursday and another yesterday and they were both negative. Because we didn't do IUI I didn't get a lab slip for my beta. I'm just wondering if it is worth the $ and the bruising considering the month we've had or should I just wait for af to show?  I'm kind of antsy to get onto the next cycle considering DH's surgery in three weeks.

TTC since 3/2011 Adenomyosis, LPD, hypothyroidism. 
BFP on 7/20/12 after 4 cycles Clomid + IUI 
2 large subchorionic hematomas & no heartbeat at 7w6d   
D&E 8/18/12 Sonohysterography found septum and necrotic tissue.   
Hysteroscopy to remove both 10/5
IUI #5-7 50mg Clomid + trigger = BFN  
IUI #8 Femara + Bravelle + HCG + Progesterone = BFP 3/27/13
Beta 1 (13dpo) = 169  Beta 2 (17dpo) = 1073  No heartbeat at 9w3d. 
D & C 5/10/13  Triploidy 69 (paternal inherited)
IVF #1 with ICSI and PGS 11R 8M 5F 2 biopsied/frozen
PGS results = 1 with trisomy 13 & 1 good embryo for FET 
FET #1 EV, estrace, nitro patches.  Cancelled due to thin lining
FET #1.2 oral estrace, f'ing nitro patches and no delestrogen.  Transfer 12/31. BFN
PAIF/SAIF welcome
Surprise BFP on 6/13/14  Our only unmedicated bfp ever.
Beta #1 339  Beta #2 649 44 hour doubling time

    FET #2 Cancelled, Right Tube Developed a Hydro  8/28 Hydro & Scar Tissue Removed  Cleared for FET
    FET #2.2 Scheduled for September 20th
    2 Thawed, 2 Transferred! Beta #1- 96, Beta #2 906! :: EDD June 10th
    2015- 2 failed FET. We are done

    My RE has me come in 2 weeks later even if AF shows.

    However insurance covers it so im not sure I would if I had to pay for it.

    If its going to drive you nuts, I would just go in and find out.  Im not sure I could not have a period and not get one done.

    DX: PCOS/Recurrent losses/MTHFR mutation (compound hetero)
    5 hysteroscopies/2 surgical
    3 Inject IUIs = 2 m/c's and 1 BFN
    IVF #1= BFP. m/c at 7w6d. Needed 2 D&C's and scar tissue removal. Mild OHSS
    IVF #2 = BFP. Severe OHSS. 4 Drainings. TWINS!

    for IUI only if I got a + HPT

    Positive for HLA-B27, I'm a mutant :p
    Testing - Me ok, gluten issue? DH - borderline count, low motility
    4/28/11 IUI#1 = BFP!(5/25), EDD 2/2/12 - m/c 5w3d
    7/3, 7/31, 9/25 - IUI#2-4=BFN
    IVF#1 - 1 blast = BFP!! (12/30), EDD 9/9/12, confirmed c/p 4w2d
    FET#1 3/2/12 - 2 blasts =BFP!! EDD 11/18/12, us#1 = twins! Confirmed m/c 5w6d
    4/20-surprise BFP and another c/p 4w2d

    If I'm on p4 supps, it's mandatory. If not, I don't go in unless I get a +hpt.

    3 Clomid, 1 Clomid/Menopur, 1 Menopur w/ TI (CX 4x's due to cysts) - All BFN

    RPL & Karyotype testing normal

    IUI #5 (12/1/12) --> Follistim + 1/3 hCG Trigger = BFP! EDD: 8/23/13
    Betas --> 61 (13dpo) // 156 (16 dpo) // 223 (18dpo) // 656 (21 dpo)
    U/S --> 5w0d - sac seen // 6w0d - hb detected // 7w0d - hb seen and heard, measuring 6w6d!
    8w6d - wiggly baby! // 9w3d - wiggly baby with fingers!

    I wondered the same thing last cycle and I had the same thing happen, early O so no IUI. I asked on here about canceling it and AF showed later that day. My nurse said they would just run a beta with my CD3 b/w to be safe.

    If I'm taking progesterone supps I always go in for a beta.  But I've never had bleeding through the supps (it usually takes me a week to get my period after stopping them).  Without supps I just waited for my period and went back on CD2 or 3, but my RE automatically runs a pregnancy test along with CD3 bloodwork for everyone.
    TTC with PCOS since July 2011.
    IVF Oct/Nov 2012
    Beta #1 = 77, Beta #2 = 190, Beta #3 = 1044
    Cautiously optimistic.

    Because of my LPD, I am on P4 supps but still RE has me go in for a beta only if a +HPT because we are OOP or if I request it.  Because I always get neg HPTs and bleed by 14dpo even on the supps I've never had a beta.

    TTC since July 2009. Dx MFI & LPD. 
    IUI#1&2&3 (2011 & 2012) BFN
    IUI#4 1/23/13 on 75iu x9 Follistim = BFP then chem preg m/c (Feb 2013)
    IUI#5 BFN (April 2013)
    IVF w/ICSI Oct. 2, 2012 - 13R, 11M, 7F, 1 frozen blast 4BB grade - - - FET Nov 15, 2013
    BFP! Beta 1:104 @ 10dp6dt, Beta 2:178 @ 12dp6dt,  beta 3:366 @ 14dp6dt
    Saw heartbeat twice before missed M/C at 8w3d on 12/27/13, missing my little angel boy

    I've never had a beta w my p4.  I only go in for betas if I get a + HPT.

    Me:29 DH:29  TTC since 1/11 Dx: unexplained IF/early DOR/immune issues 
    Feb'12- July'12-testing(all clear minus slight arcuate ute), 3 IUI with clomid all BFN
    8/30IVF#1 Antagonist protocol- ER 9/11-8R, 7M, 5F. 
    ET 9/14 2 embies transferred. 1 10cell Grade 4, 1 8cell Grade 4. No frosties. BFN
    IVF#2 Antagonist protocol plus baby aspirin- ER 12/5-16R, 12M, 8F!
    ET 12/10 5dt! 1 fully expanded blast & 1 early blast. No frosties. BFN
    3/13 hysteroscopy & polypectomy, Consulted w Dr. Kwak-Kim.  
    DX: High NK cells, cytokines, DHEAs& PAI1;  hypothyroid, +APA, restricted bloodflow
    7/13 IVF#3 Long lupron protocol with PIO, Crinone, Prometrium, and vivelle
    (plus synthroid, metformin, baby asa, metanx, PNV, Vit E, D, calcium, fish oil, CoQ10, IVIg infusions and lovenox per Dr. Kwak-kim)
    ER 7/19 14R, 11M, 9F(4 natural fert, 5 with ICSI)

    So for you ladies on supps, when do you stop?  I'm waiting to hear back from my nurse too but I'm curious what day you cut them off.

    I stop on 14dpiui.  I test in the morning before Im due for a dose ( have 2x a day dosing).  If it's negative, I don't keep taking it & usually for me, AF shows 2 ish days later.

    For my IUI cycles they give me a test day 16dpIUI. If its negative, stop the supps that day, call in on cd1 to set up the next cycle.

    For my IUI I was on prog supps. They had me do a HPT 14dpiui. They said they would do beta only if it was positive. I stopped the supps after getting a neg and AF came the next day. I plan to ask for a beta no matter what after the next IUI. I don't like the idea of stopping the supps just from neg HPT. I need more confirmation than that. 
    2 year TTC journey with successful IVF in Nov 2012- B/G Twins!
    Baby Boy diagnosed with omphalocele and diaphragmatic hernia
    Born at 32 weeks due to PROM.  Emergency c-section due to prolapsed cord.
    Said Goodbye to our sweet Bennett after 5 short hours.  
    Spent 35 days in the NICU with our little girl.

    So apparently my beta was scheduled for tomorrow.  One more night of supps and then HPT in the morning.  If negative then we move on to the next cycle without it.  Thanks ladies for all the help!
