Hi new moms! I hope you're enjoying your new LOs and getting some decent rest. My DH read this book during my pregnancy, raved about it, and I'm just starting now. So far I'm thoroughly enjoying it -- I'm not itching to move to France just yet (although their maternity leave sure beats what we have here in the States), but it has certainly given me some new perspectives on parenting, and it's pretty entertaining to boot. A good friend of mine with a 1 yo just started as well and she was telling me how she wished she had read this before she had her baby (she's also a FTM). Just curious if any of you ladies have read, or are currently reading, Bringing Up Bebe, and if so, what do you think?!
Happy burping/diapering and snuggling ![]()
Re: Bringing Up Bebe book
I read it about 4 months ago and loved it. I took away so many good ideas and lessons. Children need to learn the entertain themselves (amen to that), and they need their own autonomy. Parents still have a life outside their children. Life does not revolve around your child. They enter into the family, and follow your lifestyle, structure and rules.
Also loved the bits about diet and feeding. No snacking on junk all day long, and then kids actually eat their meals. And serving the veggies first. Brilliant
