Spitting out Milk/Juice...HELP

My 11 month old has been on the sippy cup for almost two months now. She does great using the sippy cups and made the transition easily. She has this awful habit now of spitting out mouthfuls of drink (juice/water/milk). She will drink good when she's actually thirsty but then she will act like she's drinking, take in the mouthful and spit or drool it all out.

I am having to take up stock in Resolve at this point because her outfits are constantly covered, she won't wear a bib. Last night I steam cleaned the carpets again for the third time this month because the juice/milk stains terrible. I tell her no when I see the bad behavior and take the drink away but I don't quite know what else to do.

Suggestions are appreciated!

We only put water in the sippy cups that she brings into the living room for the same reasons.

It is probably just a phase and when she is no longer entertained by it it will stop. I would also reccomend the no food or drink on the carpet rule though.

My DS does the same thing with spitting so I have no advice but I am just letting you know you are not alone. I haven't offered juice yet so I havent had that problem. I agree with PP about limiting where she drinks.
