June bug = May flower

Better late than never.....My little June bug became a May flower on 5/31/12, 4 weeks early. Athena Jane weighed 3lbs 7oz and 17 in long. I was scheduled to have a csection 6/11/12 but my water broke and she pretty much came with it!! 

Athena had her heart surgery last Thursday to repair her heart and is now on the mend. Being that it was a massive surgery on such a little person, they left her chest open so that the swelling of her organs could go down and they closed her up today. I can't hold her for a few more days which I think is the hardest, but its ok. As long as she heals.

 I hope you all are doing well and can't wait to hear your stories.

    Congratulations on your little one!  I'm so glad she's doing well.  I believe I read a post months ago about her heart condition, right?  She was supposed to have surgery at Loma Linda?  I remember replying to that because I live in Loma Linda, and my sister had several surgeries there (though none on her heart).  I hope her recovery is smooth, and you are in my thoughts.
