We are going on a road trip soon and I was hoping to buy a couple of new toys for DS so that they are exciting on the way down and leaving them in the car for the way back. What toys do your LO love in the car? <extra credit and cookies for links>
I am no help cause I am guessing "sit in the back with them and give puffs one at a time" is not what your looking for. Honestly O doesn't like many toys in the car she does like listening to music over listening to DH & I talk. She also has taken an intrest at looking out the windows the past few weeks and that seems to be enough.

The other day I gave her an empty bag of animal crackers and the last time we went to lexington a straw and lid from a fountain soda.....not the safest but they worked great....
Seriously though she has this little stuffed mouse she's obsessed with and it stays in the car all the time and she talks to it whenever we're in the car. I'm hoping some others have good ideas because we are going on a road trip soon too!
Books or magazines and then other random things like others have mentioned - like water bottles. She really isn't interested in playing with toys while in the car seat anymore. I look forward to when she's big enough for something like a Magna Doodle (think that's what it's called)!
DH: 34/Me: 35 Married: Feb 2008 DD: June 2011 TTC# 2: April 2014 BFP!! 8/29/16 --> EDD: 5/11/17....it's a GIRL!!!
I have a make-up pouch (never used for make-up) that LO loves to take things in and out of. So I put small toys in it, like a teething toy, a small car or truck, a rattle, a crinckle square, etc so he can put things in and out. I try to change the things each time I give it to him so it is a little different.
I just did an 18 hour road trip with him (over 2 days). He slept during a lot of the trip. I had a basket of toys that I could hand back to him. It had stuffed animals, teething toys, the make-up bag, cloth books, and these little animals that you squeeze and they make noise. Everytime we stopped, I simply refilled the basket.
We leave Sohpie and a stuffed Gorilla in the car. He gets excited to see them every time we get in the car which is great because he hates getting into the carseat now.
Re: What is your LO's favorite toy for the car?
OOOOO That's a great idea and cheap!! Thanks!
unbreakable mirror, cloth books, small bead mazes
basically anything that is all one piece so that no pieces of it go missing!

Books! We were in the car a lot yesterday and I just kept giving her a new book. Kept her pretty entertained.
And if all else fails. Snacks

C doesn't do well with "toys" or even make-shift toys (water bottle, etc.) in the car. He just ends up throwing them down.
He loves the kids' music CDs we have, his lovies (rubs the tags), snacks, and the iPad (he'll take himself through several rounds of Peekaboo Barn).
My husband hates it, but I tell you, those Wee Sing CDs are magic.
