I upper her to 3.5oz but she wants it every 2 hours still. I'm bumping her up to 4oz today.

Re: still stuck on 2 hour feeds

  • Right there with ya, sister...Just talked to the pedi about that today, he told me to try and make her wait an extra 1/2 hr or so, but that's easy to say, and tough to actually do...

  • No she does great STTN. Last bottle between 10-11p wakes to eat usually between 6-7a. Dr said she's eating a fine amount I just am trying to keep her full longer so I'm not feeding every two hours.

  • Yeah Sarah....easy to say. It's only easy to do if you don't mind a screaming baby for the extra 30 min.

  • Well that must mean she needs rice cereal. I kid, I kid. Is she sucking the bottle dry? If so, then bump her up for sure!

If she is STTN dont complain/change her routine.  She tanks up during the day and you get to sleep all night.

I love STTN I just hate 2 hour feedings. It makes running errands and stuff hard. Plus she's only eating 24oz. Dr said 24-32oz is what she needs. So if she naps through one feeding, she sometimes does, she's not getting enough for the day based on what he said

My hair dresser was full of "helpful" suggestions like rice cereal haha. She does suck that bottle clean.

This is exactly us.  Every 2 hrs in the day and the same stretch at night... I understand. Tongue Tied

  • My LO breast feeds but eats every two hours. He also sttn, from about 8:30 to 6:30. I just figure he has to stock up for the night, but I have no control over how many ounces he eats. So really I don't belong in this thread. Haha. GL!

I know :( And then it just seems mean to make her wait if she's crying- that must mean she's obviously hungry...I'm not cut out for that!

  • My pedi still recommends that I wake V every 2 hours to feed during the daytime hours. We've been doing it and she sleeps usually 9pm until 5am so I'm happy with the schedule. It's definitely hard for errands though, you're right about that. I'm BFing so I guess it's a little easier to just whip out the boob instead of having to mix up a bottle.

  • sadly i understand and i ebf, and have tried bm bottles too.....get this, we usually dont make it much past ONE hour before shes hungry again.  when its a bottle she eats an ounce to two ounces. i have tried everything to space them out and make her eat more....
  • Maybe I'm just jealous, but if she's sttn that well I wouldn't be complaining about every 2 hr feeds while you're awake. That's really not that bad... She's only 2 months old.

This!  I know it stinks to feed every two but I think it's normal. My LO eats every two as well but is still up 2-3 times a night.  I would just be happy to get the sleep.  I think over time she will naturally space them out longer- hang in there!
