Went to the ER yesterday

So yesterday landed in the ER. I was staying with my boyfriend this weekend and we were driving to meet our realtor, when I got a hot, aching pain in my back, and then a sharp, stabbing pain in my abdomen. It was so severe that I was writhing and crying in the car so Milo cancelled on the realtor and drove me to the hospital. By the time I was in the ER I was in a full on panic. I was petrified that I was losing the baby, and right after we told all our friends and family, my work, after we picked out names.

They ran me through a whole gamut of tests, and decided that I was severely dehydrated and that was causing the cramps. They gave me fluids and ruled out that anything was wrong with the baby. But the only good part of my visit was getting an ultrasound. The only ultrasound I'd had was at 7 weeks 5 days, and baby was just a bean. My baby had a face. There was a nose and little hands and little ears. My bean has gone from being a cell cluster to looking like a real baby! And now that we're public we can show off our 12 week 4 day ultrasound to everyone! I'm taking the day off work to rest (I'm completely exhausted) but doing good! I'm just happy my baby is okay.

    so glad to hear everything is okay!! I'm sure that day in the ER was horrible and quite scary! Thank God everything looks well! Drink that water!

    I went to the ER on Saturday and got to see the baby at 13 weeks! I had fallen in the parking lot and since this is my first pregnancy, I was scared and went to the ER. Everything was fine. The last I had seen the baby was just a bean as well. Now you can see it's a real baby! They weren't able to print out a photo for me and my phone camera didn't get a very good photo but just the memory is so precious. Baby was sucking his thumb. :D It made me cry.

    I just realized this might sound like I'm trying to steal your thunder. That wasn't my intention. I'm glad everything was OK with your baby and you got to see him or her! I know how exciting that is. :)

    Glad all is well! I carry a 1 Liter bottle of water w/me and refill twice throughout the day! It's over 100 degrees where I live! Drink lots and lots of water.

    No thunder stolen! Shared joy is double joy! I cried a little too. The tech kept saying "I'm sorry, it's too early to find out the gender," but I was just happy to find out my baby was okay!

     

    Thank you everyone for your kind words! The ER was very, very scary, but there was a definite happy ending!
