I delivered there and had an amazing experience! I was a high-risk pregnancy, and the docs took great care of us. Our nurse was by far the most wonderful person - she really took care of us and made labor less painful and stressful. I can't say enough about how much we liked her and how great she was.
Since this is a teaching hospital, be aware that you could have a parade of residents checking on you. Make sure you ask what they are there for and if its needed for them to do what they are doing. I asked a lot of questions and also asked that not many residents be present. That is probably the only drawback, but then again dr's have to learn somehow...
Thanks for the feedback! I know they do a "meet the doctors" night every few months where you get to do a tour as well. I'm excited to hear about the next one!
Did you have a private room? I wasn't sure of their ratio of private to non-private rooms.
The delivery rooms are private rooms, which is great. There are some private rooms and some shared rooms. I didn't have a private room, but there was no one in my shared room the entire time I was there. Oddly enough the shared rooms are nicer than the private rooms.
I would call about the "meet the doctors" - they only do it a few months/year and I missed it. Ie they only had it in April and Oct. I had my baby in Sept and didn't think it was only 2x. You can schedule a tour at any time though.
