  • My MS isn't too terrible but sipping real ginger ale has been helping the nausea.

  • Same as pp - not terrible m/s just nausea mostly and in the evenings - ginger ale is doing the trick!

  • A combo of Zofran and Reglan, along with constantly eating little bland snacks throughout the day.

  • I have just had *intense* nausea, not vomiting (yet, thank God), but here's what's been helping me:  wheat saltines, lemon water (lots of ice), cranberry juice (again with the ice!  lol), Minute Maid lemonade push pops, and dry cereal.  I feel your pain!

    have big meals before bed...or make peanut butter toast right before you go to sleep. 

    i find if i wake up hungry it makes me feel sick.

    try keeping snacks beside your bed, banana fish crackers, juice, anything that is mild on your stomach first thing

    I haven't had any yet, but with #1, I took the unisom/B6 combo and that saved me.  I could function with it, whereas before I would literally be couch-bound in my bath robe all day. My midwife recommended that to me when all I could manage to eat were greasy things like french fries and potato chips.

  • Ginger Altoids, Sour Patch Kids, ginger tea, B6 before bed. And, if it's really bad or I'm away from the house and feeling bad, Zofran.

  • Someone posted on here a few weeks ago about sipping regular coke bc it has an ingredent in it that on its own is used to help with anti nausea, and i thought that was crazy...til i tried it!!! helps a lot, just put it in a glass w/ lots of ice and just sip at it. Really does help!

  • I see people keep mentioning taking B6 to help with nausea.  My prenatal already has 20mg (800% of the daily recommended amount).  I imagine I couldn't take any more then that, right?
  • small amos cookies and sipping on milk.  First thing in the morning.  Oreos also work...and I try to sleep in and give myself at least 20mins before getting up.  I tried crackers but they dont stay down.  I also eat small meals and dont go to bed on an empty stomach

    I do the Unisom/B6 thing as well...I usually take 1/4 of a Unisom tablet and 1/4 of a B6 pill. One of the B6s has like, 1000% of your DV of the vitamin! So yes, you can take more :)

  • Sucking on sour candies like those icebreakers sours and making sure that my stomach was never empty. Once I got the feeling that I was hungry I would get sick, if I was constantly nibbling on a cracker or rice cake I seemed to be okay.
  • your body can only absorb so much of any vitamin and after that your body just processes it out (pee).  so I doubt that taking 800% of any vitamin is really helping you out.
  • Ginger Ale works for me too.
  • Zantac helped me after the Zofran did nothing! I just had alot of acid. At 15 weeks now, its about gone. Hang in there....it was SO bad for me...

  • My doc recommended Zantac 150 (over the counter) twice a day until the worst of it passed.  I just started doing one Zantac in the a.m. a few days ago and so far, so good.

     

  • For me really nothing solved it except getting to 13-14 weeks. It's amazing what a change that was. During the 1st tri I drank sprite like it was my job and ate carb snacks every hour or so. Saltines, French fries, goldfish crackers and potatoes helped keep things down.

    Im sorry you're going through that I know it is horrible. There's a light at the end of the tunnel though!

    Thank you guys so much for these posts! My morning sickness got very bad over the weekend end I ended up in the ER on fluids and anti-nausea meds (up until then it had just been queasiness). I'm trying to get to the point where I can really eat something, I just feel so lousy. I just remembered I have some lemon Italian ice. Going to try that out and see if it helps!

  • I've been drinking ginger ale or sweet tea, eating toast with just a little butter.  But literally EVERYTHING makes me sick.  Except maybe fruit.  I've been craving that like crazy!!

  • chimes ginger chews (so good the mr. keeps stealing them) and tums!

     

    Thank goddess for TUMS! I had a 3 week stomachache before I read my OB's pamphlet that recommended  tums

  • Ice water is the only thing that has helped me.... About a half of a glass and I am fine.

  • If I get Hungry, or don't eat for more than 2 hours, I get sick. However, if I eat too much, I also get sick. Things like popcorn are bad for me to have because i'll eat the whole bowl and that's waaay more than I need. it was the worst during my first weeks, I would lay on my tummy, and sip ice cold ginger ale as long as i already had something to eat.
    For some reason though, saltines never helped me. Snack foods usually aren't enough either. I need to have a real meal. Breakfast is hard because I never really ate it before. Now I usually have scrambled eggs and toast or frosted flakes. It's all I'll even consider having most days.
    Staying cool is also a big thing for me, if it's over 76 degrees where I am, I feel like I'm dying.
  • Constantly eating small, carb-rich meals & Zantac 150.  Turns out in my case nausea is caused by excess stomach acid.  Good luck!

  • I've been nauseated all day for the past few weeks.  I've tried zofran but it lurks back too soon, plus it just tastes nasty dissolving under the tongue.  Nooo thank you!!  So as simple as it may sounds chewing gum makes it all go away for me.  You should definitely give it a try.  Good luck!!
