If you arrive home and your children are sleeping and you intend to move them inside sleeping, which do you move first? Does the weather impact your choice? What about relative age of the kids? What about if one is sleeping and the other isn't? Any other factors that influence your choice?
Re: Hot car, sleeping kids
If one is sleeping and the other isn't, I take them inside at the same time. If I have a baby in an infant carrier, I take them both inside at the same time, whether they are sleeping or not.
If you're talking about two toddlers sleeping, I first take in the one who is a deeper sleeper, and therefore will hopefully continue to sleep while my SFD (stupid effing dog) barks her head off while I go back out to get the other kid. DD2 happens to be the deeper sleeper, so she is who I'd bring in first with two sleeping toddlers.
If the weather is extreme, I would likely wake one and have them walk inside to avoid leaving anyone in the car.
This is what I do too. To unload I have to leave the hatch open anyway, so it's not getting any hotter in the vehicle and I can unload in peace and then I bring in the kids. First is usually my baby in the bucket seat because I can just put her down in the seat and then go out to get my older one.

Started our exploration into the world of international adoption June 2012. We have no idea what this is going to look like but we are excited to find out!
We live in a house that we own, so walking from our driveway to the kids room is a short distance. If they're both sleeping, I grab one, put them into their bed, then go back for the other. If one is sleeping/one is awake, I get the sleeping one in bed first then go get the child that is awake.
