He used to eat and then play while I did cleaning or laundry and then fall asleep when he got tired. But now he's starting to need to be entertained while awake and I can't and don't have the energy to be his entertainer 100% of the time. He won't nap for more then 30min (my mother informed me that I used to only nap this long, but sleep nights). Luckily, he still sleeps a good 5hrs before his feeding in the middle of the night. His feedings are normal and I just started to feed him a little more then usual cause he still seemed hungry after every feeding. I try to burp after every 1 1/2-2oz. We have him on gas drops and with doc's permission a little bit of juice for constipation.
Not sure if he's going through a long growth spurt or just starting to have crying moments. I hate it! I usually don't know how to console him during these fits. I did just take him to the doc last week and everything else was fine. He did tell me that he's too old to be getting colic.
Just curious if anyone had any ideas on why my LO is just now starting to get fussy fairly often (been happening for about a week now)?
Re: 8wk old just started getting fussy, any ideas? (long)
I LOVED having this book w/ DD. I'll need to dig it out... I found I was able to have a lot more patience during the more difficult times when I had an understanding of what was actually going on.
DS - 7.2006 - C-Section b/c Breech
DS2 - 4.2008 - Successful Vbac
DD - 5.2012 - Successful Vbac
Just to clarify I do sit with him a lot and hold him, make faces, play music, talk to him etc. Also, he's FF and the formula he's on makes everything thicker, so it's thicker coming out. I don't give him juice everyday. I don't just do housework all day. I really meant for the times when I need to get things done like washing his bottles and I need to eat at some point during the day. He is SUPER active. I've had ppl tell me he's the most active squirmy baby they've ever seen. Even my parents are astounded sometimes. Thanks for the ideas and I'll pick up that book. I think it's more going through a growth spurt. LOVE you ladies on the bump!!!!
