Good morning bumpies!
I tried to research this as much as possible before asking but couldn't find the answers I want. At 5 dpo I had a small dip and then today I had a huge dip below cover line. Any insight into what this may mean? My LP is almost always 14 days.
Also, some websites are a little vague in regards to the moments after you open your eyes in the AM and take your temp. Is it... the second you wake up grab the thermometer and take it immediately, while you are still half asleep? Or once you are fully awake maybe 30s later? The reason why I'm confused Is because i take it the very second I open my eyes, usually kinda half asleep. Today I took it and it was 96.76, then 10 secs later 97, and 10s after that 97.56. Those are huge ranges within 30s.
Thanks!
Re: 2nd dip, this time below coverline
The dips could mean anything, or they could mean nothing. Usually, individual temperature readings don't carry much meaning on their own, it's more the overall pattern/picture that matter. It's impossible to tell what caused a temp dip. I've gotten them on non-pregnancy cycles and pregnancy cycles, so I don't think it's attributed to one thing or another. It just happens.
As for your temp, stop taking it repeatedly. It will only confuse you.
I use to take my temp when I was awake for 30 seconds - 2 minutes, but now I temp at 3AM (because it's the best chance/time that I will have been asleep for 3 straight hours without waking up to go to the bathroom) and I do it while I'm half asleep.

It's a luteal phase dip, which could mean something, or nothing. Tomorrow it will probably pop back up. I've had a LP dip every cycle: not pregnant. However, FF says LP dips happen more often on pregnant cycles, but they do happen on both.

As for the temps, I have no idea. I temp only once. When I first wake up and roll over, I stick the therm in my mouth.
My BFP Chart
*lurking*
I know with the thermometer for my son, I have to wait two minutes between taking his temperature. That way the thermometer has a chance to reset itself and the body part I used can get back to temperature (not slightly altered by the thermometer). There's no reason to take your temperature so frequently in such a small time period. All it does is cause doubt. Use the first temp. It's the most accurate.

Ah stupid iPhone. I MEANT your SECOND, not sex haha
Anyway, as for your second dip, it looks promising as an implantation dip, however dips happen on non-pregnant charts as well. If your temp comes back up and stays up, hopefully you'll get a BFP. Good luck!
