...or we are both losing our marbles.
One day this week I was home alone. LO was napping in her nursery and the dog and I were in my room with the monitor on. Sophia started stirring and cooing away which is usually the precursor to crying for milk but I didn't go in to her room right away. Two times and as clear as day I heard a soothing "shhhh" come across the monitor. I half-jokingly figured it was Fitzy (what we call our ghost a.k.a. the strange things that have happened in the house, i.e. a picture half falling off the wall for no reason, the dog starting alertly at nothing, etc. The previous homeowner's wife had passed away when they lived here and their last name was Fitzpatrick.) I told my hubby about it and he looked at me skeptical but amused and just figured I must have heard interference in the signal.
Fast forward to 3:30 this morning. I was still asleep but hubby had woken up. Sophia was cooing and babbling away in her crib. Hubby was amazed to hear across the monitor a mumbling voice in between her noises. He said it was like a conversation going on.
Conclusion: We are either both losing our minds or we have an other-worldly babysitter.
I do like to believe that we all have guardian angels that we knew in life who have passed away but watch over us still. I believe my paternal grandmother (Sophia's middle name namesake) and my maternal grandfather are mine. I believe they, and a few other relatives, watch over Sophia, too. It's kind of comforting to think that they are who we are hearing.
Re: either we have ghosts...
My mom believes her grandpa is around when she sees a red cardinal too!

Waiting on our second little peanut!
I would have freaked a bit. But then I'm paranoid about people breaking into the house (BIL did it once - scared the crap out of me). Plus there's those paranormal activity movies. Especially the 2nd one (haven't seen the 3rd one yet).
*shivers*
Lol!
hahahahaha
I thought of this since our house was burglarized right before we knew we were pregnant but then I realized the dog would be barking his head off. On a side note, maybe you should lay off the scary movies and stick to romantic comedies! hahaha
