Re: Serious question

  • Anything they do during surgery has to be documented so if it isn't in your chart somewhere that this was done I would start BC.

  • How does your OB not know?? Didn't he or she perform the csection? I would demand to know if it was done or not. It's crazy that they say they don't know.

  • I would seriously be upset if I was told "I don't know" to this type of thing. It should be in your charts if they performed the procedure, and if it is not then someone is in serious trouble. If it was performed and not documented that is a pretty bad offense. Likewise, if it was supposed to be done, and it wasn't done, you should have been informed. If you hadn't thought to ask, and just assumed they had done it, and your tubes aren't tied, and you got pregnant before your body was ready that hospital would be responsible. I would really speak with someone higher up about this matter to find out what actually happened.

  • First of all what hospital were you at so I can avoid it because I have worked in multiple hospitals and that is ridiculous. The OB who did your c-section should know if they tied your tubes or not. That is ridiculous. I would throw a fit until someone can tell you what really happened in there because that is not acceptable.

Personally I would be raising some serious hell right about now. This isn't something you can just go on about your life not knowing for sure! Seriously someone at that hospital needs to get their act together and figure out what happened. I would be up in their faces raising hell if they pulled this kind of thing on me. It is completely dangerous and unacceptable for them to be so negligent, and honestly that is what this is, negligence. I don't know if taking birth control will have any effect if your tubes ARE tired, but I can say that not knowing isn't an option here. You need to find out 100 percent for sure. If they aren't tired you NEED to know so that you can take the necessary precautions to not get pregnant again before your body is ready, because that IS dangerous, and the hospital would be completely responsible. Don't just take this, go up there and demand to know what happened.
