Boob Tugger

My little guy normally does a great job latching on and staying on, but sometimes he tugs the mess on my boob. He gets kind of frantic and pulls back but doesn't let go. It is almost like his jaw is stuck and he is trying to let go but can't. I make sure he can breathe through his nose and he is not congested. Sometimes I try to hold him there and he pushes really strongly against me. I have tried unlatching him but he just goes back and does it again and again until he calms down some.

I don't know if he is not getting milk and he is trying to get it to come out or if he is just wigging out on me. Has anyone else experienced this?

LO does that, too. Usually because he's fighting sleep. Has anyone mentioned he might be tongue-tied? Both my kids are, and both were breastfed. They both had/have intermittent latching issues.

Mine does it when she's struggling with gas or a poo! It hurts!!

My guy tugs when the milk either stops or slows and he gets frustrated. It's a clue to switch sides for us.

Just wait till he's older and here's something and tries to look while latched that hurts too. It's normal for babies to play while eating just either unlatch and reposition lo or ignore it and keep feeding lo.

Owen only does this when he is overly tired..it usually results in him losing the boob and screaming while I try to get it back in his mouth..and then he usually continues to scream for a minute until he realizes that he has the boob back (it's actually kind of funny to watch..)
