I liked the "What to Expect When Your Expecting," "What to Expect 1st Year", toddler, etc. Some people hate those books, but I felt like they had a lot of good info.
I thought that The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding was great. It gave a lot of info about infant care as well as nursing. I also liked The Happiest Baby on the Block. The Complete Guide to the Organic Pregnancy was very informative (maybe too informative though and did make me a little paranoid -- especially about what to and not to eat...I ended up eating pretty much whatever I wanted per my docs instructions though), and What to Expect When Your Expecting is a great place to start. I also really liked Ina May's Guide to Natural Childbirth. A couple of girls that just had their babies this year suggested reading more about child care than birth -- the birth is one day, caring for your child is a life long job! Good luck

I loveYour Pregnancy Week-by-Week. I'm already reading it again and read it with my first two boys. For after baby is born, The Happiest Baby on the Block has invaluable information on how to soothe baby, especially for those experiencing colic. It saved my butt with DS2.
I LOVE The Mayo Clinic book. My friend gave me her copy. She said she used it during each of her three pregnancies, and it was the best out of all the books she read.
I just finished re-reading The Girlfriends Guide to Pregnancy. It was one of my favorites. It's written more like someone else's pregnancy journal, but it was one of the better books I read last time I was pregnant. I also have copies of the What to Expect books, and I love those books for after the baby is here (what to expect the first year and so on), but the pregnancy one kind was "eh".
My favorites have been "Mayo Clinic Guide to a Healthy Pregnancy" and "Your Pregnancy Week by Week". If you only want to get one book, I would go with the Mayo Clinic book because the Week by Week book doesn't work as well as a standalone book, even though it contains a lot of good info and I really enjoy reading each new week as the pregnancy progresses.
You might want to try reading reviews on Amazon and even excerpts/free chapters, it really helped me a lot. A lot of it is personal preference.
This! Also, when you want to research baby gear, I highly recommend baby bargains...
I love my "what to expect when your expecting" found it super helpful and anything that's not in there I just Google and get answers. I haven't really read or bought any other books though, mainly because they cost money
Re: Books? Can you suggest books about pregnancy to read?
