Trying to Get Pregnant

In serious pain down there

8dpo I started hurting like I did with a prior yeast infection. I started Monistat 3 and since then, Ive had random itching but not severe and no pain...until now.Im 12dpo and after BD im in extreme pain. I started getting a little itchy upon arousal but nothing major. When we finished my vagina felt like it was on fire...sorry if tmi. it hurt to pee and a little pink blood was present, but not in my actual pee though. I sting now. Never had anything like this. any advice? No odd discharge or  anything. Thanks!

  • Hi there!  The only thing I can think of is that maybe due to a possible UTI or yeast infection, you might not have been as "ready" as normal and you have microscopic tears in your vault from the sex.  That would explain the burning as well.  Just a guess. :-)  HTH and I hope it's nothing serious!

Yes, get yourself some 100% cranberry juice and get to the doctor for some antibiotics. Sounds like a UTI. It sucks but it's very treatable!

This. And I hope you feel better soon! These are miserable.

I have never heard of that as an early pg sign. I would think infection and/or not enough lube.

  • I agree that it sounds like a UTI. But do NOT drink cranberry juice if it is a UTI. All that will do is irritate it further. Cranberry juice is extremely acidic and will irritate your system further. The reason why people think cranberry juice is a remedy is because cranberries can help prevent the bacteria from sticking to the bladder wall. If you already have an infection, you are past prevention -- water is best to flush out your system. And definitely get to the doctor for antibiotics. Hope you feel better soon.

ETA: I just read your response that came in the same time I was writing. I was hoping that you were really asking for advice & not just asking if you might be pregnant. Did you pee in a cup at Right Time?

  • yes, I peed in a cup to test for a uti.  I really was asking for advice...not if I was pregnant.

I don't fully believe you, but it doesn't really matter. I would still guess it's some sort of infection. I hope you get it sorted out with your regular doctor. Good luck.

What is so hard to believe about me thinking i have a uti and asking for advice? Goodness some of you girls are ridiculous. Thanks to everyone who offered advice. I never once said, "Hey guys, think I'm pregnant?" geez

Why throw out the part about the doctor saying it was an early pregnancy sign?

...and why start the ENTIRE thread with 8DPO....? That wouldn't really matter if it was a UTI or yeast infection, at least not in the diagnostic sense.

I offered advice, so I guess you are thanking me too. You are welcome. :)

  • I included the part about DPO because I've read that yeast infections are common before your period. I thought someone might say something like "It's common to still feel itchy and it'll ease when your hormones change with your period". Just looking for advice.

FYI: I called my ob and for anyone who is interested...she said the 1 or 3 day treatments can still take the full 7-10 days to treat (just like Monistat 7). It's just less days that you have to bother with the medicine. In case that helps anyone in a similar situation. Thanks again.
