Broken toenail

I went to clip dd's toenails today and I noticed it was cracked right down the center! it must have gotten snagged or something Sad I clipped it as short as I could but now I don't know what else I can do! It doesn't look infected but should I put a band-aid on it? Or a sock to make sure it doesn't get worse? I can tell it irritates her when shes getting on all fours because she kind of digs her feet into the ground to get up and she fusses during the process.

    Evan broke the corner off his and it bled a little. I didn't put a bandaid on it but have just been keeping an eye on it to make sure it doesn't get infected.
