Same. Its nothing more than a pinch and thats it. It hurts more when I stub my toe haha
This. The anticipation is way worse than the injection.

The pen needles are so fine. On a scale of 0-10, I'd say a 1 or 2 for pain.
I did Ovidrel 3 times before my Follistim cycle. After doing the Follistim, the Ovidrel needle looked huge. And it's tiny in itself.
The first one is the hardest. AFter that, you'll be just fine!

When I first did injects, I had donated Gonal F in needles I injected to my thigh. They were medium long needle, and it kind of burned when the medicine went in. Then I switched to Follistim Pen from RE's office and did that in my belly. OMG, I don't know if it was the switch in meds, location of inject, or from needle to pen but it was so much easier!!
But on the grand scale, neither were all that bad and over in seconds. YOU CAN DO IT!!
IUI#4 1/23/13 on 75iu x9 Follistim = BFP then chem preg m/c (Feb 2013)
IUI#5 BFN (April 2013)

Agree with everyone else! The anticipation is far worse than the actual needle - it's more of a pinch than anything else. Good luck!
Yeah when I first started injects I was too chicken to do it in my stomach so I had DH do it on the back of my arm and that actually hurt a lot more! I guess because its going into my muscle, whereas in my stomach I can pinch of some of the skin/fat and it softens the blow haha Regardless its not painful once you actually get up the nerve to do it! Thats the hardest part anyway!
When's your next monitoring appt? I had my baseline ultrasound yesterday (Saturday; cyst was gone from IUI #1 back from February) and started injections tonight with Puregon. Did you go today (Sunday) for your baseline ultrasound? Never heard of Gonal-F??? My next monitoring appt is Friday June 29.
The first injection is always hard not knowing what to expect but then doing it day after day it comes like second nature. You can do it!!!!!
Yeah I started crying before doing it and it took me 10 minutes to actually inject myself and once I did, I felt so stupid because I hardly felt it at all. Whew. What a relief.
Next ultrasound and bloodwork is on Saturday, June 30th.

A CACKLE A DAY
Glad to hear it went alright for ya! I started to cry too before putting in the needle, but more just emotional that we're having to go through this again. I'll be one day ahead of you then, since I go on Friday June 29. I'm getting the pharmacist to show me the trigger shot again as I had trouble getting all the solution in the needle for my first IUI and then actually injected an air pocket and I had a hard lump where I injected so I want to be totally clear on what I'm doing this time around as I was freaking out. We'll definitely be 2ww buddies and, who knows, maybe our IUIs will happen to be on the same day! Good luck to you! Keep me updated!
First- good luck!
I used the Follistim pen and it wasn't too bad. Make sure you rotate injection sites, let the alcohol dry after you clean a spot on your stomach so it doesn't burn. I am really not a fan of needles, but I did alright.
The first time was the most difficult, because I was so nervous. I said "1, 2, 3" about 10x planning to stick myself on 3. MH didn't go to the injection teaching with me so he wasn't allowed to give me the shots but I had him standing there for 'support' which actually made it worse for some reason. I asked him to leave the room and I just did it. You want to put the needle in quickly.
