A little while ago, there was discussion about those bump badges some of us put in our siggies--you know, EBF, STTN, etc. Some of the posts got me wondering if these are braggy or not, and at first I thought they WERE.
However, I thought of times I needed a hand with something and was glad there were people with EBF and Cloth Diaper badges so I knew who to ask. I don't think they are such a bad thing. They just let everyone know who is doing what.
That's all. Just my "deep thoughts" for the afternoon.
Re: About those badges...
Well if you need any insight on how to be the best just page me.
Honestly, I don't care about the badges, if someone is braggy they will do it in their posts anyway.
I liked them. It helps to know who is doing what sometimes. I messed the codes up when I changed my siggy pic and have been too lazy to but them back. I don't see the big deal.
Yours cracks me up, mass-girl.
I do get a little jealous when I see the STTN badge, but beyond that, I actually like the badges. It's an easy way to know who's who. I like feeling an instant connection with other c-section mamas.
Having said that, I've just been too lazy to add any to my siggy...maybe sometime this week...
kwinkle: that's exactly why I have EBF/CD badges in my siggy, even though they make it huge(r than it already was.) It's really just for the extra info if I'm asking/answering a question. As for the rescue pet... I'm totally bragging lol! I love my dog!
mass-girl: your badge is hilarious and awesome
I love the badges (clearly), I think they're so fun! I like how the add color to siggys and make it easy to identify people.
I just wish more of them worked! The NICU one didn't work at first, but I was able to change the code so it would, but I didn't have luck doing that with some of the other ones, like the momtographer, Team Canon and one other that I've tried to use, can't remember which.
I also think there needs to be more options. It's dumb that they got rid of the eipdural badge, but still have the "I went natural" one. I also think it's weird how Pampers has a whole board dedicated to them and they don't get a badge (not that I think it would be used a whole lot, but more free marketing for them!).

This is why I put the EBF one in my sig because every time I asked a feeding question in his first 8 weeks of life, I would always get asked if he was BF or FF. I also agree that the STTN one is braggy and chose not to use it. I just use the CD one because it's cute
Just wanted to throw this out there, too: I don't care how much people brag. It does not bother me. I am honestly just worried if people think I am bragging for having one.
But yes, the CD one has really come in handy!
I agree, if LO EVER sleeps through the night consistently, I will be tattooing that STTN badge across my forehead. Do they have a badge for "Baby wakes 8 times a night"? Now That is a badge of courage. Ha ha!
I agree with some of the other pp, badges are a quick reference to who is doing what i.e. EBF, CD, but some of the badges drive me nuts like when I see a STTN badge and your kid is 2 weeks old... (I lurk on other boards sometimes)
With that being said, I do not have any badges because I'm too lazy to add any, hence the ticker that countdowns to DD's birthday which I know annoys others on the board, because it annoys me! One of these days, I will change it

This. I'm so stinkin' proud of her for doing it. Yes, I'm bragging and I don't even care.
