I'm 39 weeks, 3 days. Just curious who tried castor oil to induce labor? I'm a little nervous about being overdue and being induced. Did you do it? Would you do it again? Congrats on your little ones! Thanks!
Baby will come when he/she decides to come. If walking or sex worked, I would've had my DS weeks ago, believe me! As it is he is almost a full week late. I'm going in for an induction tomorrow. I never tried castor oil, but I doubt that would work either. They say it causes diarrhea and the movement through the bowels is supposed to stimulate contractions, but that doesn't seem to be true. In all frankness I've had plenty of diarrhea this late in my pregnancy (due to high fiber foods and the tight space of my intestines and the like) and that has never caused any contractions. At this point in my pregnancy I say bring on the induction!! Just be patient and take your doctor's advice. Perhaps your doctor will strip your membranes. That seems to make the most difference, but I think it depends on how dilated you already are (because the doc needs to be able to really stick his/her fingers up there). I'm only a fingertip dilated so I never had it done to me.
Omg! i took castor oil, it DEF DID NOT WORK!! my doc said to take 4tbl spoons and they stripped my membranes twice said it would help me go into labor. it hurt so much, caused severe stomach pain i mean horrible! and really bad dirreaha for 24 hours. and i did not go into labor, i had to be induced 6 days later! i def woulnt take it.
I took 2 tbs - and was in labor 3 hours later - with a baby in my arms 2 hours after that!! Did not get sick, did not go #2 on the table - worked perfectly and I would do it again in a second! I was 3 days before due date!
