2nd Trimester

Larping post on 1st tri

Anyone seen it?  I don't usually point out 1st tri, but it is oh so rare to actually see a serious question about larping. LMAO

  • Neither do I, but from the girl's post it sounds like it involves fighting with swords and what not with very little protection on. GREAT idea when you're pg. She classified it as a "contact sport".

  • Well let me just tell you what larping is.  A bunch of people dress up in Mid-evil costumes and use mid-evil fake weapons and basically fight in the park with them.  I only know this because I pass a park on the way to work that has "larpers" in it.  It is the most ridiculous thing you will ever see.  It is mostly college and high school kids but apparently some people never grow out of it.  I just have no words!

Haha- that's exactly what I pictured as well. LAIRE.

  • I'm putting that in my dumbass file.  What a moron.  Maybe she should have thought about her sport before she got pregnant.

I love aerobics so much and every time I did them I'd spot. Guess what, my doctor said no more aerobics for you.  So I stopped doing them, duh, not more important than my health or my baby's. I now walk on the treadmill and do the elliptical, not my favorite things to do but I like to excercise and my favorite is out until after the baby.

  • Oh and the chain weighs less than 20 lbs?!
  • Some people just have no common sense what so ever. Why do they even call it "common sense" when it sure as hell is NOT common?

  • And the larping girl will officially be 2nd Tri tomorrow. Awesome. I feel some serious snark coming on.

  • You can see how it could be (or not) considered a "contact sport:" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KZ04mfAY2BU
  • Some people have some very strange past times.  I couldn't imagine dressing up in medieval attire and play-fighting with fake weapons.  WTF.  This reminds me of the girl that rolled down the hill with her daughter at 16w pg then freaked out about it.

  • Wow that video made me laugh so hard the only thing that could make it more entertaining is if a pregnant woman came waddling on to play. Some people!

  • My neighbors do this, sometimes in the front yard.  It is quite entertaining to watch...it's like my own Medieval Times.  BTW-they are in their 40s!

I can't imagine someone doing that while pg!

  • Yeah I think it stands for Live Action Role Playing .... I only know because it was on CSI NY last week and I had to look it up :)
  • oh my gosh that totally explains what i saw last summer... i was so confused!  haha
  • Actually a lot of larps don't use any weapons at all. Some use stats on character sheets and some use rock, paper, scissors. So not all larps are contact sports. Yes, I'm a geek.
