I went for my normal 2 mile pregnancy run and mowed the lawn, later in the afternoon complained to friends how I was never going to have this darn baby and was livid because my husband rejected a round of golf with me to go with his buddy instead.
Fast forward to a couple hours later, I felt literally like a rubberband snapped and decided to go to the bathroom only to find out my water had broke! Called my husband-no answer, texted my husband "pretty sure my water just broke" an hour later he got home and we went to L&D. They didn't believe my water broke (apparently a lot of woman get confused with this) meanwhile driving to the hospital I soaked through 3 bunched up bath towels. They wanted to do a test but the minute I opened my legs they said they had confirmation enough.
26 hours later (June 24th) and numerous episodes of watching bizarre foods with my husband and a male resident, my L finally graced us with her presence. A 9lb 3oz peanut! Dr's realized once she was born why it appeared I had no contractions, I was all baby so my stomach couldn't harden.
Best day(s) of my life!
So this 1 year birth story is a day early but it all started on the 23rd!
Re: One year ago today (the untold birth story)
Love that! Thank you for sharing. That's crazy that you didn't have contractions. Did you have an epi when you were watching bizarre foods or did you really just not have pain??
Happy (almost) birthday to your DD!
