I know this is a personal choice, and everyone has a different experience. But I am interested to know how much waiting time you have between having kids.
My husband wants our kids close together. I want our kids KIND OF close together, but I'm also concerned with not giving each child enough attention if they're too close in age. I also want to be the best momma I can be, and would want to have energy, something I'm not sure I'd have if I'm chasing 2 toddlers around, instead of just 1.:) I'm pregnant with my first, so I was just interested to know what you chose to do, and how it worked out for you.
Thanks!
Re: Spacing out kids
Our DS will be 5 by the time DD is born. This honestly wasn't planned, but I'm happy with the idea of having two kids 5 years apart. DS will be a big helper and is pretty self sufficient at this point leaving me with two hands to devote to an infant at all times. plus he's had plenty of time as the only child to have attention from grand parents etc before little sister comes along.
My sister has a boy / girl combo too, but her's are only 1.5 years apart and that poor girl has been run ragged. I don't think she's slept in 3 years so in that sense I'm very happy with how long we waited.

DS will be just over 2 when this LO is born. We actually wanted them closer together, but ended up with 2 m/c. We are hoping to have another fairly soon after this LO. Our thoughts are that we want to be done with diapers before DH turned 40.
The original plan was to have our first two children about 3 years apart, but I got pregnant unexpectedly about a year ahead of schedule. So, they will be almost exactly two years apart.
I would really like a third down the road, but we will probably wait a little longer to think about that. 2 under 2 seems intimidating now, but I'm sure we'll be fine. DS is 17 months old now and LOVES babies. Every time he sees one he says, "BABY! HI! Awwww." So I think he'll be an awesome big brother.
