s/o onesies... anyone through with sleepers?

DS has been wearing footed sleepers, even though it's hot outside (his room stays pretty cool and I don't want him to get cold without a blanket) - BUT he outgrows them quicker than I can replace them in the next size.

I know someone who cut the toes out of some sleepers because of the same problem!  I really don't want to do that because I'd like to save them for future babies.

Has anyone had any luck with 2-piece pajama sets? What is your LO wearing to bed?

  • Im done with footed sleepers for this very reason.

I love Hanna andersson Jammie's because they don't have the feet. She is wearing the 9-18month size right now and they will fit her 3x longer than the Carter's with feet

  • We get hand-me-down sleepers from my cousin who had a baby in October. We have bought several to supplement those as well. I always wait until they are on sale at Carter's and I have a 20% off coupon. The last time I bought sleepers I paid around $3.50 each for them at Carter's. I don't mind her growing out of them quickly if we aren't spending a fortune on them. She also uses sleep sacks. I am going to be very sad when she outgrows them.

  • We'll probably go back to them in the winter. Right now DS's room stays pretty warm and he's comfortable in just a onesie. I'm betting he'll be in 18 months by fall and I WOULD THINK he wouldn't grow out of them as quick as he did in past months.

  • DS sleeps in either onesies or just a diaper. We only have a wall AC in the living room and so it gets really warm in the bedrooms at night in the summer time. That is the only time of the year kids dont have to wear PJs here

  • I have had a heck of a time finding 12 month size footed sleepers.  I don't like the really fitted ones that are flame retardant, because they're polyester and he gets waaay too hot in them.  So, for now, he's in some lightweight sleepers that somehow, magically, still fit him.  I have no idea how, because he's 22 pounds 7 ounces and, like, 30(??) inches long, and one of them is 3-6 month size -LOL-but they just keep stretching and stretching.

I don't know what I'm gonna do when he outgrows them. Cry, maybe?

  • We've been done with footed sleepers for awhile now. Charlotte is in 12 month clothes and I think sleepers look silly in this size. She wears two-piece jammies now and they work great.

She has Carters and Old Navy jammies. My favorites, so far.

  • We just started with onsies for sleeping.  I always worry about his legs so depending on how cool I am, I may put his 2 pieces on him.  I have the shorts/shirt ones and they work great.

  • We've been done with clothes at night since about March, so she just sleeps in a diaper in the bed with us. It's too hot to wear clothes to sleep and she is very hot natured.

  • DS still has some 9 month ones that fit, but when those are outgrown, I'll probably opt for something else.  He's getting  bigger so he'll be able to use a blanket soon.  I have one that is crochet that he uses for naps because it has huge holes in it, so I feel comfortable letting him have it in his crip during naptime.
  • Still rockin' sleepers at our house. We set our AC to 71 at night and a onesie would be way too cold for her. The Carter's sleepers are way too baggy so I stocked up on a bunch from Children's Place - they're longer and leaner. I also love the Hanna Andersson jammies.

  • I still love footed sleepers though I have a bunch of footless ones too (Children's Place is my favorite place to buy sleepers)

I have some 2-piece but I don't really like them yet...they're still a little big on her so the t-shirt rides way up all the time
