Has anyone used Immodium AD while pregnant?

My husband and I seem to have ate some bad Thanksgiving leftovers, and have been in and out of the bathroom today... Without even thinking, I turned to my dear trusted friend Immodium AD to fight the diarheaa and nausea... Has anyone else used it while pregnant? It says consult a physician first, but when you in that position your not even thinking straight...

My OB and my midwife both told me Immodium was fine to take...

I doubt it was the food. There is a nasty virus going around that me and dh have been sick with since Friday night. I am not sure on the immodium but get in lots of water! Ours started with diarheaa and then we started throwing up later that night. You can always call the nurse on call at your local hospital and ask them or call a local pharmacy and ask the pharmacist.?

My OB told me it was fine to take occassionally. However, if you have diarrhea as a result of food poisoning, you should not take it. Doc said there is a reason your body is expelling whatever made you sick and bacteria laden food is not something you want to keep in. You may want to double check with your doc, everyone has different opinions.

Lucky for me, I've had neurovirus TWICE since being pg (the joys of teaching kindergarten!). Both times, before we knew what I had, my OB recommended Immodium. Just do not take Pepto.
