I'm sure that I'm being completely paranoid but this evening DS was drinking water and decided his sister needed some and before I could get to her he poured water in her face. I grabbed her and flipped her over and patted her back, it took her a few minutes but she calmed down. I'm now freaking myself out about delayed drowning. This was about an hour and a half ago and she's now sleeping peacefully. What would you do? Call the pedi or go to the er or watch her all night?
Re: Delayed drowning
Personally, I would just watch her carefully throughout the night although I doubt anything bad will happen. You were right there and patted her back immediately, so I'd assume you got any water out of her almost immediately. He probably got more on her face/body etc then in her system anyway.
Try not to freak out (easier said than done, I know!) and think that this will just be a funny story to tell your kids when they are older.
