XP: ARCS Non-Breathable Panel and Rolling

I have a question for those of you who use the ARCS. I believe I have the mini, it is a loaner from DH's coworker. There is a panel that is not mesh, but a solid canvas (the side that folds down closest to the bed). DD has started to roll and squirm in her sleep even though she is swaddled and twice last night I found her with her face pretty close to the section that is just canvas. Once her nose was against it but she was not flush against the side, but I wonder if that would have happened if she had longer to move.

Is anyone else dealing with this? Any advice? I hate to transition DD to her crib just yet and this is all we have.

Would unswaddling her help with this problem or only make it worse? TIA

  • What is that ARCS?

  • We have the same issue.  I used to worry myself sick over it and tried repositioning DS during the night, angling the bed so he wouldn't roll, etc.  Nothing worked.  He is 4 months and has been fine although I think it wakes him up sometimes when he rolls into it! Honestly, I think he is just trying to roll as close to his momma as possible.

I think DD does the same. She always had turned her head towards me and makes her way closer to me. I love that, even though it scared the crap out of me last night.

DH's co-worker who we got it from used it with her DD until 6 months when she outgrew it, even though her LO rolled around a lot, too.

Trying to unswaddle one arm tonight (have been thinking of weaning her from the swaddle anyway after her Houdini acts give her hands to self soothe) and will see if that makes any difference.'

    Thanks :)
