I'm a true plus size woman and I've been having a HORRIBLE time finding maternity clothing. I've tried about every store I can think of in my area.( I live in Nebraska) Most stores don't sell maternity anymore and the few that due (and who say they have plus size) really only end up going to a size 18.
This is what I've tried so far:
shopko- no maternity
kmart- no maternity
Jcpenny- has limited maternity but is online only
walmart- has maternity online, but not plus size
old navy- only goes to size 18 or XL in maternity
motherhood- says they go to a size 3X but I think that ends up being about a size 22 at best (and personally I think their clothes run short too)
Kohls- sells motherhood maternity, so same problem as above.
Target- only goes to a size 18 or XL in maternity
Dillards- no maternity
Von Maur- no maternity
Fashion Bug- no maternity
The Avenue- has VERY limited maternity items online but everything is on clearance so I think they are going to be ending the maternity line.
Womanwithin.com- online only and a bit pricey. I was going to order 2 shirts and a pair of jeans but the total was $165....
Does anyone have any ideas??? I'd like to at least get a pair of jeans and a cute maternity top for pictures.
Re: plus size maternity clothing???
The 3X at Motherhood is suppose to be 24, which was my pre pregnancy since (and pretty much where I am now, since I have only lost weight so far) and I find it to run a little big. I can't speak for the length of the pants, though, since I am 5'10 and EVERYTHNG from anywhere is always too short for me; I just have 2 pairs of capris from them and I love them.
Oddly I found a normal people maternity size XXL tank top/sleeveless shirt at Target and it fits me wonderfully. That was really unexpected given my size. I also have an XL maternity shirt from JCP that fits great as well, due to the cut of it. Those are actually my only two maternity shirts since that's all I can find; I did buy a couple more plain maternity tshirts, but so far I NEED the empire waist or something similar or else I just look even fatter than I already am. I probably won't be able to wear those other shirts for a while yet. I also have a 3X maternity shirt from JCP, which they advertise as a size 24 equivalent, and it's a bit too big and while the empire waist is created with a tie in the back, it ends up looking bad. It's another one I'll have to wait to wear.
I've found that a lot of plus maternity stuff is extremely unflattering. Instead of having an empire waist and flattering your figure, it's just a huge sheet of fabric that drapes over your boobs and flows down. No shape whatsoever. That's another reason why I haven't bought much, because I refuse to act like I am a shapeless blob.

I have looked at this site before as well, they have some cute basic stuff. I haven't ordered anything maternity from them but I have ordered regular clothes and they were good quality. They definitely aren't cheap but unfortunately we are at the mercy of what is available in our size.

Thanks ladies for all your help. I wanted to share that I did finally find a few things at Motherhood. If you guys are having issues I highly recommend trying their "super stretch boot cut jeans" and their "convertible pants". They are both true to pre-pregnancy size and very comfortable. Plus the convertible pants can go from regular length to carpi and are super cute and super soft. I got everything but the jeans on sale- otherwise I would NOT have been able to get much at all.
Again keep up the hope ladies and bless you all for helping me keep mine.
