Booo

My coworker has been using a maid for 2 yrs at her home.  She gave me their # and I called.  So the maid came by yesterday and told me $120 for the 1st visit and $100 for every other visit. This is just the common areas b/c DH does not want her in the bed rooms.

That same lady does my friends much larger house and charges $60.  I feel like she is trying to rip me off b/c she feels like I can afford to pay more after seeing my house.

I feel fustrated today...

Re: Booo

  • I would talk to her (and I mean the maid not your friend) about it. I would flat out ask her why there is such a price difference between your friends house and hers. If she didn't give a great answer I would look for someone else.

  • Your friend may be "grandfathered in" at a lower rate.  Maybe, the quote she gave you is her newer rate.  Either way, it doesn't hurt to ask.

Yes I'd definitely still ask though!

This. That happens all the time around here.  Someone will get a great rate because the person is new to whatever business and looking for clients.  Then as they get referrals their rates start going up.

Ah makes sence.  I am not as fustrated now hearing this as it does make sence.  I wish she would have just explained that but she speaks limited English so I can forgive that.
