I am in DC but my OB Dr Sarafian at Foxhall has been very supportive. I have also heard very good things about the midwife center at GW. I am sure coming into the city isn't what you want to do but thought I would mention!
I have heard good things about Virginia Hospital Center but don't know any OBs or have any firsthand knowledge. Try checking out www.dcurbanmom.com they have some postings on OBs etc.
Oh, I just remembered Dr. maanavi and dr. andersen--I taught their daughters. I don't know their VBAC policy but have heard wonderful things about their practice which I think is in McLean.
I go to About Women OBGYN which is adjacent to Potomac Hospital. So far they are being very encouraging about me wanting to have a VBAC. I had a CS last time due to failure to progress and my DD's heart-rate dropping, so they said if it looks as though I'm not progressing during my last few appointments they may go ahead and schedule a RCS (since they won't induce after once having a CS) but at this point they are all for a VBAC. The one nurse practioner I see sometimes was even telling me of some successful VBAC stories she's seen lately to keep my hopes up.

Good luck!
Thanks! I went their for my routine yearly appointment. I liked them so far. I just moved to NoVA from California 9 months ago.

I am actually in WV, but will be delivering with Dr. Ayoub. He delivers at Inova Loudoun, and his office is right next to the hospital. I really like him thus far. On my first visit he was telling me about the two recent natural births he attended and you could hear the excitement in his voice about it.

I am high risk and trying for a VBAC and they have been very supportive (except Dr. Bissel who is not well informed about diabetic pregnancy.)
