Speaking of bedding...

I've been looking at bedding, and it annoys and frustrates me.  First, why must everything come in a set?  What if I don't want the valance, what if I think diaper caddy's are stupid?  Second, what the F is up with the cost of bedding??  Holy Poop.  Everything I've looked at is $150-$200 (or more) for a set.  Maybe I won't register for it and I'll start bargain hunting elsewhere.

  • You can buy just pieces from pottery barn. Try baby gap for just simple colored pieces that you can buy seperately.

  • I could have written this post.  I'm about ready to explode and then start my own baby bedding company.  Good Lord.

I'm also not doing a specific "theme" and instead want a geometric/abstract nursery in lime/chocolate/tans/browns.  Not easy to find.  My mom is an interior designer with her own company and even she is having a difficult time finding something.

So far, the set we like is $277.  WTF!??!?  I also don't like that you have to buy in a set, although I have found that with Gloria Jean beddig you can buy everything separate.  Also, if you click on the link to have them send you special pricing, you'll get an email within a few days for a discount.  Every little bit helps I guess.

     UGH!!!

  • I agree. It's stupid. Especially since EVERY single set comes with a bumper, which takes up about 75% of the package. I've found a couple sets where they sell just the comforter (at BRU). They also have a bunch of seperate sheets, bed skirts, etc. And yes, the prices are insand. $250 for baby bedding! Until a couple months ago, MY bedding never cost that much!

  • I second looking at Pottery Barn, we just bought ours from there and you can pick and choose what you want. You could always get a quilt from there and then buy or make a skirt and whatever you want to match. They have some good deals in the sale section.?
  • There's no way I can justify spending >$200 on baby bedding, especially when I'll only use the sheet.  I've got hand-made quilts, and I don't need the rest.  I plan to buy a single organic crib sheet online and that's it.
