NBR: DH's tacky Appalachian family

DH's cousin is getting married, and his aunt made a facebook event for it. She posted this today with the registry information:
"And if you bring a pk of T.P. And a Recipe your name will go in for a drawling."

Indifferent   Have you ever heard of such a thing?? I've been invited to a number of showers (all thrown by/for his family members) where you'd be included in a drawing if you brought a pack of diapers. But toilet paper? Seriously??


Jess & Adam, married 2009, precious Audrey born in 2011. BFP 1/6/13, 6-wk MMC discovered at 9 wks 2/11/13. D&C 2/18/13, second D&C 4/23/13 for retained placenta.
BFP 8/24/13!! EDD 5/1/14, delivered healthy and sweet Zoey Leanne on 5/5/14 by repeat c-section.

    *groans* I know!! They're not even southern - they live in Ohio. His aunt is just not the most literate person in the world.

    Aside from the general weirdness of this... I wouldn't even want other people buying my toilet paper! Doesn't everybody like their own specific brand?

    Wow. I thought DH's family from WV was bad. MIL is *almost* as bad with writing/speaking, etc. Most of what she says has me cringing quite often.
