I used Queen Helene Cocoa Butter Lotion with my first. It smells good (IMO), is on the thin side, comes in a huge bottle and is inexpensive. I don't know if it (or any lotion) really helps with preventing stretch marks, but I didn't get any until two days before my water broke, and they were little.
Ok. There is no lotion that will prevent stretch marks, despite what they promise. Now, you can use just about anything to soothe stretched out skin, I would recommend something a bit heavy, like cocoa butter, because it lasts longer.
And if you do get them, they will most likely fade on their own, so don't spend a million bucks on high priced lotion.

Pretty much this too. I just use the lotion to keep my skin from itching while it stretches. If you're genetically predisposed to stretch marks, you'll get them.

Just ordered Clarins Tonic from Sephora...should be delivered today. It's an oil for your skin that's supposed to smell lovely and help with stretch marks and itching. No personal experience, but the reviews seemed very favorable. A bit on the price side, but I had some gift cards to use up so I figured it was worth a try!
I've been using the Blooming Beautiful from Motherhood. I had dry skin pre-pregnancy and its much worse now. I put this on once a day and it helps so much.
I agree that no lotion will keep you from getting stretch marks. I will however recommend Bio-Oil to everyone and their mother. I used it after I had DD, (I used Palmers the whole time I was KU and the smell of it makes me sick to this day.) and the stretch marks that I did get faded within two weeks. It also helped with the random skin issues that I got from my hormones crashing. I use it religiously now, and it really helps with the itching issues, plus it smells good. (IMO)

If you're going to get stretch marks, you're going to get stretch marks, and there's nothing you can do about it!
I was fairly lucky - a 10lb 5oz baby and very minimal stripes. Mine faded fairly quickly, but I didn't use anything special. I always use body lotion after a bath or shower, and thats what I did while pregnant and after I gave birth. For what it's worth, I use either Vaseline (cocoa butter), Jergens, or Olay.
I only got a few, very faint stretch marks right at the end of my first pregnancy. I used Bio Oil on them and they went away. I'm thinking I'll invest in it again when my belly starts to get itchy. It's awesome stuff!

My stretch marks faded within two weeks and I used nothing. I just think it is hormones or whatever.
But no harm in using any lotion or cream to make you comfy.
