Willamette Valley Wine Country

So I just posted this question on the Oregon board on The Nest but it doesn't appear that anyone is there anymore...

I travel regularly to Salem for business from Seattle. On one of my upcoming trips I plan on driving down from Seattle with my fiance on Friday so that we can spend the weekend touring some of the wineries in the Willamette Valley.

Does anyone have suggestions for their favorite wineries (i.e. best views, best wines, etc)? We are likely going the first weekend in August and from what I understand not all of the wineries are open to the public and some require appointments.

We plan on staying in McMinnville on Friday and Saturday night as it appears that the city has more lodging options than others in the area.

If anyone has any suggestions or tips please let me know!

My favorite winery is in Turner, OR (just outside of Salem) and is called 'Willamette Valley Vineyard' - DH and I actually almost got married there. It is simply beautiful! And wonderful wine too! I am a blush girl, and my favorite is 'Oregon Blossom'. Good luck!
