  How does anyone DD? I tried to delete this right after I posted cause it was a pointless post and it said too much time had passed. really? two seconds is too long?

  I don't know about deleting, I've had that happen with me too.
  
  But to check your siggy you don't have to make a new post. Change your siggy and then go back to any post you've made or commented on (click on "My Posts" on the left) and it will automatically show the changes you made. No use starting new threads when the old ones will work just as fine to test.
