  • Thank you for saying this! I'm about 4 weeks and mine for 104,

    1. One beta means nothing. The doubling time is the important number.

    2. Four thousand something at not even 4 weeks is extremely high (higher is not always better). Or you completely heard wrong. Normal at your gestation is between 50 and 450.

ummm.... thanks?? not really sure why you needed to share that... but my doctor said it looked good, so I'll go with that.

She brought it up because an extremely high number, especially this early, could be indicative of a problem.  Like a molar pregnancy.  Hopefully you heard the number incorrectly though & all is well with your pregnancy.  Congrats & GL to you.

well I have an u/s in two weeks, and my doctor said it looked good. I'm pretty sure I didn't hear the number wrong, but from what I've read the numbers vary a lot, and the most common thing a high number would indicate is multiples... but i'll find out in two weeks.

No, that is high even for multiples. There is a wide range, but there is an upper limit. 4,000 isn't a normal number until at least 5 weeks. Twin & triplet ranges are the same as a single pregnancy. Should you freak? No. Should you be aware? Absolutely.

I have $20 says this one is an elaborate troll based on her history.

no I'm not a troll, why the hell would I put so much effort into just trolling? that's dumb.

ETA: thanks for the information, but the way you presented it seemed like just a way to freak someone out UN-necisarily, perhaps that wasn't your intention, but that's what happened.
