My LO used to be a 30 minute napper every 2 hours or so. Now he naps for 1-2 hours every 2 hours and gets cranky after an hour or so. He sleeps from 8:30pm til about 6-6:30 am at night pretty consistently. Is he getting to much sleep? Sometimes I have to wake him up from naps because he will continue sleeping if I don't. He also might have a tooth coming in. He will be 5 months on Saturday 6/23. Could that be why he is sleeping so much?? How much sleep should they be getting.
Re: How much sleep?
Our DS's have the same birthday! I would just follow his lead for now. If he's sleeping that much he probably needs it. Maybe a growth spurt? My LO sleeps from about 730-645am but gets up every 3ish hours still. He naps about 2-3 hours a day in 1/2 hr- 1hr intervals.
I know it's hard bc we worry about everything but try to enjoy the sleep for the rest of us!!
There's a pretty big range of normal out there, but my guy is STTN anywhere from 6:30/7:30 pm to 6:45/7:15am.
He is nap routine is typically - 9am for 1 hour, 11:30ish for 1h30, then 3:30/4 for 45min - 1 hour.

1 lap, 5 IUIs = 4 BFNs and 1 c/p
2 IVFs, 2 FETs = 1 BFN, 1 c/p, 1 ectopic and finally a sticky BFP in May 2011!
1 FET in Aug 2013 = BFP!
sounds very normal to me
babies this age on average should be getting 15 hours of sleep in a 24 hour period. mine is 2 days younger than yours and she sleeps for approx 11-12 hours at night and then takes 3 naps (usually. sometimes it's 4) and each of them are 1.5-2 hours. she used to take a lot more naps just shorter... now they are stretching out, which is really nice. so all in all, she normally gets 16-18 hours of sleep/24 hours. i wouldn't wake him up, unless the nap starts infringing on bedtime. the general idea though at this point is that sleep begets more sleep. yesterday, for example, i was out all morning and she didn't nap until almost 1 o clock. she slept HORRIBLY last night, whereas we would think they'd sleep better not having gotten enough during the day... not true! if it's not normal for him to sleep that much then i'd say a growth spurt, but these little guys need lots and lots of sleep!
