Can only sleep for short periods

Normally 3-4 hours. Even if DH is taking care of the baby, I can't seem to sleep for very long. Anyone else experiencing or have experienced this? And I'm not BFing, so that doesn't have anything to do with it. It's just a little irritating. DH can sleep for 8 hours if I don't wake him up. Then I go lay down & it's only the 3 or 4. Grr. Is it bad that I'm jealous of his ability to sleep? Lol!

  • Welcome to motherhood! I know I haven't slept more the four hours with out waking to listen for my kids since ds #1 was born 8 years ago.

I have been having a hard time actually getting to sleep. Because of this, the longest I've slept since LO was born is about 4-4.5 hours. It seems like I'm just laying awake in anticipation of her next cry. Something that helps me unwind is making sure to turn off the TV or computer at least 30 minutes before bed and then counting my breaths. Like breathing in for 8-10 counts and then breathing out for 8-10 counts. I hope you can find some relief!
