I need to select a pediatrician in order to deliver at NMH. Any suggestions?
also, I work downtown, but the downtown infant care centers cost too much money. $2700 a month? Yikes. What else can I do? I live in Bronzeville, so I need to find a place between home and downtown to start around January. ANy ideas on both fronts?
I'm kinda interested in nanny share, but it seems that I live in an area that is still developing, so I don't see many new mommies or nearly new mommies to be around here.
Re: Northwestern Pediatricians? and daycare suggestions?
I use Town & Country too, I picked a doctor from their group so I can deliver at NMH, but my baby never seen that doc I picked b/c she's only there twice a month. There are so many docs at that clinic (any doctor from this group will be cover under your insurance). For the first few visits, most likely they will schedule you whoever doctor is available. You won't have feel a personal touch for the first few months, until your baby is about 5-6 months then you can schedule to see a specific doctor you like. I like it b/c they open 7 days and weeknight until 8pm. Always good when emergency happens, no more "wait 2 weeks b/c doc is out-of-town, or go to ER".
There's a few Daycare by South Loop. I saw one called It Takes a Village on Wells St (behind the Target on Roosevelt) and a few more around that area, they takes baby from 6 weeks and up. Usually is $1200/month.
