1st Trimester

Implantation bleeding maybe? I'm so confused.

I don't really know where to put this but I need some input. My story is a little different. My husband and I decided to put TTC on the backburner until the end of the year. So, I decided to start taking the birth control pill. I have normal cycles I guess, last month's was 29 days long and the one before that was 30. Well, I had my period on May 30th and started the bc pill Sunday June 3rd. No one told me that for a month of starting the pill you're supposed to use a back up method of birth control. We had sex (no condom no pulling out) on the 9th, 14th, 15th, 16th-yesterday. I am cycle day 23 today. If I had a 28 day cycle, my suspected ovulation date would have been the 13th, putting me at 8 days past ovulation today. I didn't have sex that day, but I did on the 9th. If I had a 29 day cycle, suspected ovulation would have been the 14th, putting me at 7 days past ovulation today ... if I had a 30 day cycle, my suspected ovulation would have been the 15th and that would put me at 6 days past ovulation today. So, I could either be 6,7, or 8 dpo today IF I even ovulated......... this morning I woke up with mild cramps and when I used the bathroom I wiped and saw a small amount of blood ... like it was pink and a little brown. It's gone now and so are the cramps. Could this have been implantation bleeding since we have not been very safe it's possible I could be pregnant? Or is it most likely just from the pill? Like I said I'm only cycle day 23 so it's kind of early for my period to show up. And according to my inactive pills my period should land between the 24th and 30th .. I have two active pills left to take. I don't think I can take a pregnancy test right now and have it give me an accurate result. Is it possible I'm pregnant? I'm so confused

  • Pills can do that. However If you think you could be pregnant wait 3-5 days and take a test IF your period didnt show up

Exactly this.  Spotting from the pill sounds more likely than implantation bleeding.  If you are concerned, test in a few days.

  • I went through IVF and my doctor told me that spotting after my transfer could be from implantation because the embryo is in essence burrowing/implanting into the uterine lining but it could also be from the pill so I would wait a week and then take a test and see what happens.  Whatever you do, good luck!
  • It could be IB.  I had it with two of my pregnancies about 5ish days (I think...my memory is terrible) before I was due for my period.  But if this is your first month on BCPs, spotting from that wouldn't surprise me either.

I was only 3w4d when I got a BFP.  Take a test and see!
