Hi!
I lurked in the December 2011 boards last year, but I'm hoping to be a little bit more active now. We had DD last December, and we're now expecting LO#2! With my PCOS, it took 3 years to have DD in our lives, but it took less than a month {!!!} for LO#2 to make an appearance! I'm hoping this one sticks! ![]()
I have a question for those that have dealt with 2u2. When I was PG with DD, I had TERRIBLE m/s. It was so bad that I was taking Zofran twice daily. DD's 6 months, and my question is how do you deal with m/s with LO? When you start to feel like you're going to be sick, do you make sure LO is playing in a secure place so you can leave him/her if you need to the bathroom? I'm a SAHM, so at least being sick in a public toilet isn't a concern for me anymore... {btw, ewww}
I know my pregnancy this time might be completely different, but I'm just preparing.
Any advice would be welcome!
Edited for wrong date.
2012 was not last year. hehe Pregnancy brain at its best!
Re: Intro and a question for those with 2u2 already
You may not have m/s this time. I had it terrible with #1 and was really only sick for 2-3 weeks with #2 and it was mild in comparison. Same with #3.
For me, the bigger issue is the exhaustion. I'm just so tired during the first trimester that it is hard to keep up with active kids (especially my active 3 and 4 year old boys).
I just make sure I nap when the kids are down and go to bed as early as possible. I also keep hydrated - like chug the water even when I'm not thirsty, because it helps. And lots of protein helps me feel better too.
As far as keeping the kids entertained when I'm sick, I do the same thing I do to get a shower while they are awake - I stick the youngest in her bouncer right outside the bathroom door and put a video in for the older kids. But to be honest, I do remember little ones in the bathroom with me while I was getting sick a handful of times. It just happens.
Congratulations!
I got pregnant again when DD1 was 3.5 months old. I'm not going to lie - the first trimester was really hard. I also get terrible m/s with each pregnancy. I took B6 with DD2 (didn't know about it with DD1) and that helped me quite a bit. I was still puking, but it was a few times a week instead of a few times a day. I napped whenever DD1 napped and let some of the household stuff go. We had been using cloth, but I took a two-month break from it because doing the laundry was making me nauseous. DD1 wasn't mobile at the time so I would pop her in the swing or bouncer or PnP when I needed to puke. Sometimes she would cry the whole time I was heaving. It really sucked ... BUT it was so worth it. I am so happy things turned out how they did because I love having my girls so close together.
