First Scan.....only yolk sac visible!!!!!

Well i just found out last week that i am pregnant today marks 5 weeks 5 days been married three months so Hubby and i are super excited .

I had my first scan yetserday and it was a great experience though i was pretty concerned about only the sac showing and nothing else lol the doctor explained to me that this is normal since im only 5 weeks pregnant, the good thing is that the sac is in the right position , the baby is as tiny as a sesame seed lol.

I will be going back for my second scan at 8 weeks to check the development

Did anyone of you get a fright when you first had your scan and baby was no show???

The exact thing happened to me. I went to my first u/s thinking I was almost 7 weeks. The tech told me that I was 'hovering' around 5 weeks. I go back next week for another ultrasound. I'm hoping to see more! Good luck to you,

Don't worry, that's all you're supposed to see at that time. You get a better picture after 9weeks

I had my first u/s at 5 weeks 6 days and we saw only the sac, then at 8 weeks 6 days we saw a healthy LO with a h/b of 172! A lot happens in a few weeks!

I went in at 4 weeks and saw the sac and the baby. I have another ultrasound scheduled at 6 weeks, hoping to see more, track growth and maaaaaybe a flicker of a heartbeat if I'm lucky.

I had an u/s at the ER at 5w4d and they saw only the gest. sac and the yolk sac - no fetal pole, heartbeat, etc. I bawled my eyes out for about an hour until the ER dr came back in and told me that was completely normal for where I was in the pregnancy. It's hard not to freak out but I've had a lot of friends say that happened to them and then they went on to have perfectly healthy pregnancies!

Happened to me too - didn't actually see a little one until 7 weeks via the TV ultrasound and wasn't really visible on a regular ultrasound until 9 1/2 weeks. Don't worry - in a couple of weeks the LO will be visible right now it's just still suppper tiny

Our 1 and only u/s so far was exactly 6 weeks. It's pretty funny looked like I had a wedding ring in my tummy. So you see a little more an attachment to the sac but not huge it's still I think the u/s tech said 1/3mm so it was tiny.

Sad...my dr won't see me until mid july. I think I'll be close to 8 weeks by then. They suggested waiting until 8-10 weeks before seeing me for the first visit. They said if I wanted to come in and they would do a urine test to check the HPT I could do that but they wouldn't do anything more.

I would love to see an u/s of the baby this early!

I came right in because with all of the exclamation marks, I knew you were serious and/or upset.

That's normal. At 8 weeks, you will see more. Get a pregnancy book & it will give you information so you can be prepared & not freak out at normal things. Otherwise, this will be a very long 40 weeks. GL
