This has been asked a couple times recently. I'm not being snarky-- I don't mind if people miss previous posts-- but I'm just really surprised. I don't know anyone by the name of Danica other than Danica Partrick, and I had no idea it was becoming so popular. I also didn't know there were multiple pronunciations of the name.

I would pronounce Danica as in Dan, but the only Danica I've ever know of is Danica Patrick the race car driver and that's how she pronounces it! So I don't know if thats the correct why or not!
In the U.S., I have always heard it prounounced the first way DAN (rhymes with Ran) -ick-uh. However, my ex-bf was Montenegrin, and Danica is a common Serbo-Croatian name pronounced DAH-neet-suh.

Recently, yeah.
Dan-Nick-uhh like the race car driver and I think it's a great name!
Someone I know from school named their daughter this, because their husbands name is Dan. It's the only one I know around here!
Its more like Dane-eh-Ka
Just google Danica Patrick and watch a vid and people pronouncing her name!
Exactly what I was thinking.
