my mom bought DD a useless gift....what to do?

She bought her a karaoke machine..wtf?! DD is 9 what is she going to do with that? She bought the same thing for my sister a few yrs ago and it broke after a couple weeks and STILL sits in the corner of her room. Now I'm going to have the same thing in my home. Maybe I should tell her to return it. WDYT?

    It seems like something a 9 year old might like but if you know she won't and are close enough to your mom i would ask her to exchange it for something more useful.

    tell her you know a bunch of ppl with the same thing and it broke easily, so you maybe want something else?

    I dunno, my MIL has never bought me anything that is useful.  we have a basement full of crap...

    I know a lot of kids who love to do karaoke so maybe if you have a basement tv you can set it up for her down there. It helps with reading too because they have to read the lyrics:) We played RockBand with my two neices over the weekend and they sang like little popstars.

    My grandmother bought my niece a karaoke set also, to make it more interesting, we bought one of those kid's cameras that you can hook up to the TV to watch yourself in. Now she loves it. She loves watching herself in the TV sing the songs from the KM.

    I think it's a great thing to have around. Especially if your DD has friends over. Kiddos love to sing and dance around.

    Um, say thank you? I don't have any family members who send presents to my daughter. Ever. Birthday, Christmas...nothing. I would be excited and very grateful to get anything and can't imagine asking someone to return a gift they bought.
