Well, that was a surprise!

I found out last week that I'm pregnant with twins! This is my second pregnancy, my little girl just turned two. Just before we found out about the pregnancy we decided to relocate to be closer to family. With all of the chaos with moving and my husband starting a new job, I delayed going to the doctor until I was 13w. My first trimester wasn't bad, more nausea than the first time around, but nothing remarkable; but I just had this feeling...and I kept joking that there was more than one baby in there. I went to my appointment alone, talked to the doctor about dates, etc, then she did the exam. While she was doing the portable ultrasound she got the funniest look on her face and I thought "oh no, no heartbeat," but she kept looking and looking and looking. The. She said, "I have news and I'm not sure how to tell you this. Do twins run in your family?" I was too shocked to even really respond. I saw two babies, with two heartbeats, and two sacs. That's all I know.

 

So any info, from anyone expecting twins, would be awesome. Thanks!

    congrats!  There have been so many surprise twins on this board lately.  Must be the weather :)

    Congrats! I had that surprised at 10 weeks as well. It was definitely shocking and still is.

    Congratulations!! That's amazing!! I am sure it's quite a shock now, but it will sink in!  Congrats again!! 

     We, too, just found out we are pregnant with twins and that's how she asked us as well!

    Our OB just doesn't see patients before week 10, so we found out on Week 10...we were shocked for a very long time.  Now are girls are 5 months old today.  :)

    Congrats! I also made a bunch of jokes about it and went to the dr alone. I had a very similar experience! I also have a toddler girl! Lol. It's so exciting once it all sinks in! GL with your pregnancy!
