Re: Is your 7 week old still sleeping a lot during the day?
We're the same. Unless of course LO is being held, when she'll consent to sleep for a 3-hour nap. This is exactly why I've been reading books about baby naps. lol.
The moment a child is born, the mother is also born. She never existed before. The woman existed, but the mother, never. A mother is something absolutely new.
My LO sleeps a lot but is slowly transitioning to more night sleep and less day sleep at almost 7 weeks.
She now does, on average, 11-12 hours a night with 1 wake for a feeding (10pm-9/10am). A 30-60 minute morning nap, a 1-2 hour afternoon nap, and then an hour evening nap.

She's been teetering back and forth - no real schedule yet, but definitely more awake time in general than a month ago. However, she slept for 2-3 hours between feeds the last two days and today (when Daddy is home and desperate for sleep), she's fought every nap until she collapses.
I'd say she is averaging 6 hours during the day.
