I had to go in for two unplanned ultrasounds bc low fluids this week. I am 32 w 1 day preg and at the 1st ultrasound they estimated baby to weigh 4.7 lbs and at the 2nd (at the perinatal office) I was told baby weighs 5.1 lbs.
If I read websites like the bump - thats more than 1 lb heavier than what baby should weigh right now. I took the 1st estimate wtih a grain of salt, but since i had it done a day later with an even more involved ultrasound (and a different sonographer) and they estimated 5.1 -those are so close I am assuming baby has to be coming in somwhere near the 5 lb mark.
if so - I am looking at a 10 pounder, right?
Re: 5 lbs at 32 weeks?
Both my kids weighed in at over 7lbs at 33 and 34w so I really don't think 5lbs is all that big for 32w. Not only that, but the measurements can be WAY off.
Also? That doesn't mean your baby will weigh 10lbs at birth. It could be 9. It could be 6. There's just no way of knowing until they're here.
That being said, my kids were 9.5lbs born 2 weeks early (induced due to pre-e which causes LOW birth weight.)
This baby is estimated to be right around the 4lb mark at 27-28w. We'll just wait and see, but I'm sure it will be about the same size as my other two kiddos.
