Babies: 0 - 3 Months

Need some good vibes!

So I had an incredibly difficult delivery, 4th degree tearing, episiotomy, and was rushed into reconstructive surgery right after my son was born. They barely let me hold him. Well, we're back home now and our families have left and it's just me and DH for one more week then he goes back. I am still in a extreme amount of pain and bleed terribly if I do too much. I am so frustrated and tired of feeling so much pain and I know it's stressing out my DH- he had to do everything for the first 4 days. Does anyone have any advice? Please tell me it gets better and I'll be able to do more things soon!

Re: Need some good vibes!

  • The beginning is the hardest.  No matter how bad your day is, just remind yourself that everything will just keep getting easier from there onward, both with your recovery and your LO.  (They cry a lot less and can be set down a lot more soon.  I promise.)  GL!  Sending happy healing vibes!

  • I hope you feel better soon! Every day does get better - and 2 things help me - it is only a phase, and you are going to miss this (lo being so small) so try to remember those!
  • It will get better hon!! Take whatever you have for pain and just try to rest. Don't worry so much about household chores!! They will be there when you feel better! :) Get to feeling better!

  • It does get better, it's only a phase. I had a hard time bonding with DS (had PPD issues as well) and was disappointed I didn't BF but it all works out in the end and the first time you see LO smile it makes it all worth it. And then they keep smiling! Good luck! Recovery takes time.
