Anyone still not start nursery yet????

I'm starting to feel the heat. Some of you are done, right???

Re: Anyone still not start nursery yet????

  • nursery is done with the exception of we still need to buy the crib mattress. furniture is all set up though and mostly decorated. Even DS and DD helped DH and I set up the furniture.

  • I haven't started doing anything new really. I already have a crib, changing table, and glider from DS and we aren't buying a new dresser right now (using plastic bins til we move to a bigger place in ~6 month-9 months).

I am picking up a used R&P tomorrow morning, so I suppose that may count as something.

I am not really decorating or anything. Certainly not painting. DD won't have her own room for the foreseeable future (maybe not even after we move). She'll be with us for a few months, then move in with DS.

  • Not only do I not have a nursery, I have no kitchen, no bathroom, and no bedroom for either child.  Renovations in a 140-year-old house = DD, both dogs, and I are living with my parents.

I am hoping to be able to move home within a couple of weeks, but I still feel like we have plenty of time to get things ready for the baby.  With DD we didn't finish until maybe three weeks before she was born.  It all worked out.  : )

  • Nursery is good, it's DD's big girl room that I'm stressing over.  I can't even pick a paint color.  Once I figure that out I'll be ready to rock.

  • We haven't done anything.  I've got a room with nursery decorations in bags and some clothes hanging in the closet.  We have the ceiling paint (no wall paint yet)...Hopefully I can get my husband to paint this Saturday as my baby shower is on Sunday.  I'd rather not put more stuff in there just to move it out again.

  • Definitely not done. Definitely not even started, aside from clearing furniture out.

We're moving 2 months after the baby is born, so we're not going all out in the beginning, which makes me sad. I still plan to decorate as much as possible, because I'm just that obsessive and I want that for our baby, but I can't justify doing the full-scale nursery for us to pack it up almost immediately, you know?

We revamped the closet... and that's about it.  I've made my list for Ikea... does that count?

  • Not started, but I am collecting stuff to put in it when it's done.

DH ordered new windows (will take 3 more weeks to come in), and is building a closet. The room still needs to be crack-filled and sanded, painted and new trim and window ledges.

I bought 3 piece crib bedding, crib, matress and dresser.

  • Ha!  Yeah right.  We're moving out of this house in a month and moving across the country either just before or just after the baby's birth .... so no.  But we didn't start on DD's until she was about 4 months old, either.  We had DS's all ready to go when I was in my late 2nd tri and then didn't use it at all until he was 4-5 months old.  Meh.  It can wait.

You're not alone.  Just today I started on it by buying the crib sheet, crib skirt, and valance.  I'm picking out the paint tomorrow then painting it this weekend.  Then buying the million odds and ends to decorate the space.

I was panicking the other night about this but then I realized that I still have 14 weeks to go.  I'll do the bulk of the work on weekends so that's 28 days to get a nursery together.  Totally doable and thinking about it this way made me stop stressing out so much! Even though DD's nursery was done for quite a while by this point...

  • *raises hand*

Right now our "nursery" is 6 rubbermaid tubs, a crib in a box & some stuff hanging in Ashton's closet.

Y'all, please pray to whoever you pray to that we find a house soon. I will not make a good mother if I am in a mental health facility.

  • Nothing yet, DH is off work tomorrow, and he says he is going to start cleaning the room out (it`s basically a giant storage closet right now!)

  • We still need to empty out the study and make room for baby. All I have is a crib (that is not put together). I want everything to be done already so I can start organizing, especially since I have my bigger shower in 2 weeks.

I know how you feel lol

I've started collecting things and we have the furniture but we won't start putting it all together for at least two more weeks...we have to move first.

  • Nope nothing donw here. We just bought the paint. The furniture is there from ds and dh needs to turn the crib back to a crib. Everything we had from him is in there, but I have sorted throught that and got rid of the clothes etc. We are going away next week and when we get back dh plans on starting.

  • Ours is an empty shell of a room. The walls are waiting for a final coat of putty, we have no flooring in yet, and the ceiling and walls need painted. Our crib is ordered but won't be here until the 29th, and that's the only furniture we have so far.

All we need are curtains. But home decor/DIY/etc is my thing. ask me how many clothes this baby has. 7 onesies and  pair of overalls. Everyone prepares differently.

I second this, except I have curtains but I still need a crib mattress and a glider/chair. :)

I've gotten some sh*t from family who have been fussing at me that I don't need to rush and have it done ASAP, and I've told them: "I've been waiting since the first time we got pregnant (back in June '10) to put together a nursery, and I'm not waiting until I'm too big to do anything myself." I'm enjoying every minute of it and it's my thing - painting, decorating, etc. - so it's all good.

  • We're about 30% there. Dresser is in, crib is being delivered this week (mattress and mattress pad came last week), and the bookshelf is in my car (needs to come in and get assembled). I have some decor on the walls, and we have the rug. We need to move my office furniture out, hopefully this weekend. And we haven't gotten our rocker yet. Then all the little stuff.

Ok, so more like 20-25% done... :P

  • Nope! I have a crib and a few things on the way....starting to make the sheets and crib dust ruffles.....pick out paint colors.....,but I'm in the middle of moving and figure she will be sleeping in our room in a bassinet for the first few weeks anyway. Not stressing it. Don't worry!

  • We haven't started really. We moved at the end of May, I was gone through June 10th. Right now the room is a big pile of random baby stuff/shower presents galore.

We're going to get furniture this weekend so maybe next weekend we'll start.

  • Nope. We don't have a nursery room. No stuff bought yet.... LO will probably be in a bassinet or something in our room for the first bit and then hopefully we'll move soon thereafter (if not before) and we'll set up the crib then. Don't stress!
  • We don't even have flooring yet!

  • I haven't started it yet.  We're waiting on the furniture from DS's room to use in the nursery.  We're transitioning him to a toddler bed over the next few weeks so that we can move the crib into the nursery.  Until that's done, there's not much I can do in the nursery.
  • I haven't done anything yet, and I'm a FTM.  My family is gifting our crib and dresser to us, and they will be shipped from the factory but I still don't know when they are arriving.  We will start cleaning out the closet and clearing office stuff out of the nursery soon, and we rent our house so we won't be painting... but yeah, I'm starting to feel like we should at least START Embarrassed
  • We just decided at dinner tonight to not even start it until after he's born.  Right now it's the guest room, and once we turn it into baby boy's room the guest bed will get moved to the finished basement.  DH's mom is coming for a few weeks to help out after he's born, and he'll sleep in our room for at least the first 3 months like DD did.  So we decided it was silly to stick MIL in the basement when we would have an empty room upstairs.  The dresser and nightstand are already in there, as well as some stuff in the closet.  I can still get the wall decals, curtains and lamp up and then all we have to do is move out the bed and set up the crib.

We also haven't started. We moved house at the end of May, was in the new place for about a week then went on vacation and just got back last week! We did go to Buy Buy Baby this weekend though and started to check out car seats and strollers, but nothing has been chosen or bought for the nursery yet! We only have 3 onsies and a T-shirt for the baby so far - eek! Now I hit 3rd tri I feel like time is flying by and we really need to make some decisions and order stuff!

Umm.. I don't even have a room for baby.  We are stuck in a lease until November in a one bedroom apartment... so there is nothing I can do until October when we can start looking for a place for when our lease is up!
  • We're just getting started on it. I think I picked out fabrics last weekend but need to order the skirt and valance. We're getting my niece's crib and I have an antique armoire that we'll use. I've been making an inspiration board to try to narrow down the gagillion cute ideas I've seen into what we want to try to do. We're moving into the new house this weekend, so maybe we'll paint the following weekend and really get going on things in July. On the one hand, I can't wait to jump in and get it done, but on the other I don't want to be done too far in advance because I know that I'll then sit around and twiddle my thumbs and time will slow to a crawl. I'd rather be working on it until just before she comes.
